Levels of D-BAT Teams
National Teams
D-BAT National is a team that consists of players whose abilities and goals allow them to play at the national level of ASA softball. D-BAT National teams are professionally coached teams. The time commitment and expenses are usually higher than any other D-BAT team. In special circumstances a D-BAT National team may be awarded to a parental coach.
Regional Teams
D-BAT Regional is a team that consists of players whose abilities allow them to compete at tournaments in or around Texas. D-BAT regional teams will not have a large travel budget. D-BAT Regional teams can be professionally coached, or by a trained volunteer who can be a parent. D-BAT Regional teams will compete in events such as ASA Southern Nationals.
Local Teams
D-BAT Local is a team of players that will compete at the B and A level of select softball. D-BAT local teams will usually consist of players who have other commitments that make it harder to commit as much free time to softball as those players on National or Regional level teams. Local teams will have quality players and families, however, they may not have the time to dedicate to softball that our National or Regional teams have. Local teams will compete at the B and A level of ASA softball. There will be very limited travel outside of the DFW Metroplex, if any.
Developmental Teams
D-BAT Developmental is a team of players who will compete at the B level of select softball. Players on our Developmental teams may include players who still play a Rec season, or are just coming out of Rec ball. D-BAT Developmental will focus on preparing these players for a D-BAT Local team in the future. Teams may compete in a Rec or Select league during the week, and will play 1-2 tournaments per month. This is a great way to introduce select softball, without the heavy time commitment of our more advanced teams.
